I am reading a teriffic book and I would like to share it with you! It is called the Gifts of Imperfection by Brené Brown. I heard about it at the SheTalks YVR event that I attended recently. Getting through a novel is a struggle for me but I can devour non fiction like this: books written by, or about, strong, economically independent women and philosophical books on life and personal growth.
Brené writes about being our authentic selves. We all want to be loved and accepted for who we truly are. We long to feel we are 'good enough' but often times we are are own worst critics. For many of us, figuring this out and being true to who we truly are can be a lifelong journey. Maybe this is why 'Wisdom' is often associated with age.
For me this book has been a real page turner. I like to treat myself to one chapter a day and savour it, highlighter in hand. I thought you might enjoy it too.
