I must admit, I have found motherhood to be a very humbling experience. Prior to having children, I read books, attended seminars and tried to learn as much as I could about being a 'good' parent. After all, they don't teach this stuff in school! I vowed I would do a lot of things differently than my parents had (the parts I didn't like) and would carry on the traditions that I enjoyed. It all sounds pretty good in theory, right? Then along comes your first child and out the window go many of those best intentions!
All in all things have worked out fairly well in the end, although we are never really done, are we? I can't imagine how difficult it must be for single moms. It certainly takes a village to raise a child.
Keep up the good work Mom's. I know we all have our children's best interests at heart and we are doing the best we know how!
